Values & Policies

La Jolla Indian Campground is located on the historic homeland of the La Jolla Band of Luiseño Indians – today known as the La Jolla Indian Reservation in northern San Diego County. Together with our Business Management Team, we welcome you to recreate in this special place; it is our honor to share it with you, as we have now done for nearly 100 years.

Our Values

We value, and ask that during your stay you will similarly value:

  1. Mutual Respect: We are committed to fostering an environment where all visitors feel welcomed, safe, and respected. Please extend the same courtesy to fellow campers, staff, and the natural surroundings.
  2. Care for the Environment: Our campground is situated in a unique and beautiful natural setting. We ask all guests to tread lightly, practice “Leave No Trace” principles, and help preserve the natural beauty of our land for future generations.
  3. Commitment to Safety: The well-being of our guests is our top priority. By adhering to our various rules and safety guidelines, you contribute to a secure and enjoyable experience for everyone.
  4. Cultural Awareness: The La Jolla Indian Reservation is steeped in rich cultural heritage. We encourage visitors to take a moment to appreciate and respect the history and traditions of the Luiseño people who call this land home. From time to time we host cultural events on-site that the public is invited to enjoy; check our News & Events page for upcoming opportunities.
  5. Community Spirit: Camping and adventuring are both opportunities to connect with others and create lasting memories. Whether sharing a story by the campfire or lending a helping hand to a fellow adventurer, we value the sense of community that comes from shared experiences in the great outdoors.
  6. Responsibility: Please take responsibility for your actions during your stay. Properly dispose of trash, respect quiet hours, and adhere to policies that ensure a harmonious environment for all.
  7. Sustainability: We are dedicated to protecting the environment through sustainable practices. Join us in conserving water, energy, and other resources to minimize our ecological footprint.
  8. Enjoyment of Nature: Take time to unplug, unwind, and fully immerse yourself in the tranquility and beauty of the San Luis Rey River, nearby Palomar Mountain, and the surrounding landscapes.

As you plan your visit, please review and plan to follow the below Important Policies, as well as any activity-specific rules and regulations posted elsewhere on our website or at our location.
